Dialogue for Peaceful Change

Community leaders, workers and influencers working for social change are on the
front line of building and rebuilding society and will regularly deal with
conflicts on all levels. To be successful in their endeavours, these leaders must
acquire specific skills to enable them to address a variety of conflicts on
a personal, community and even national level.

Dialogue for Peaceful Change seeks to provide a professional set of competencies
needed by local leaders to address local issues in a relevant and culturally
appropriate way.

Dialogue for Peaceful Change is in a pilot phase from 2004 - 2007. In 2005 a
Training of Facilitators was held in Turku in Finland and in 2006 there was a Training
of Trainers programme and a Training of Facilitators programme in Northern Ireland.
The trainers trained in Northern Ireland delivered the Training of Facilitators programme.

DPC is a practical training, which ties models of conflict to strategies for change. The
international nature of this project is very exciting and in the first Training of Trainers,
DPC trained people from Northern Ireland, U.S., Philippines, South America,
Canada, Palestine, The Netherlands and Uganda. The sharing of international good
practice is invaluable to this training.
