Liza studied Social Psychology BSc (Hons) specialising in criminology, child psychology
and behavioural analysis in UUC and has a post graduate diploma in Business Management.
Liza volunteered in Corrymeela for a year during a year out from university and then in
2000 became the family worker in Corrymeela. She worked with a variety of groups including
single identity, cross community, prisoners’ families, interface families, young mothers,
mums and toddlers, international groups and cross border groups.
As part of her work she has developed positive parenting programmes and co-lead support
programme and developmental work with families who have children involved in car crime
Since joining TIDES in 2004 she has worked alongside Jonny McEwen on the Thinkbucket
programme assisting with training events and financial administration, Shona with
delivery on the training of trainers programme and is currently project managing the
Labour Mobility programme. She has also co-lead on international training programmes
in Conflict management and group work skills to Macedonia and Kosovo.
